Joint meeting Register 2018

Registration is now open for the 2018 ARLIS/NA Southeast/Mid-Atlantic joint chapters meeting, convening November 15-17 in Richmond, Virginia.
Registration deadline is November 2nd.
Our host sites for this meeting are Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA).
The program includes:

  • Tour of VCU’s Comic Arts & Book Arts Collections and the Institute for Contemporary Arts
  • National Digital Stewardship Resident Presentation
  • Presentations by Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Colleagues
  • A look at the exciting exhibitions at the VMFA
  • Networking and great food!

Call for presentations & posters – Southeast/Mid-Atlantic joint meeting

The Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Chapters of ARLIS/NA are accepting proposals for posters and presentations for the 2018 joint chapters meeting to be held in Richmond, Virginia, from November 15-17. Presentations are to be 20 minutes in length, followed by a question-and-answer period.
Presentations may include, but are not limited to, the following topics and themes:

  • Assessment: Assessment Plans, Performance Funding Metrics, Altmetrics
  • Collections: Archives, Special Collections, Open Educational Resources, Collection Development
  • Digital Scholarship: Digital Humanities, Born-Digital Resources, Metadata, Scholarly Communication, Institutional Repositories, Asset Management
  • Instruction: Information Literacy, ACRL Frameworks, Curriculum Development, Embedded Librarianship, Instructional Technology, Professional Development
  • Outreach: Marketing, Promotion, Institutional Partnerships, Subject Liaisons, Programming
  • Spaces: Makerspaces, Renovations, New Construction, Learning Labs

Proposals should contain a title and short description of the presentation you would give, as well as your name, phone number, email address, and institutional affiliation (if any).
Please submit proposals via this Google Form by September 10, 2018. We look forward to reading your proposals, and to seeing you at the conference!

Save the dates! 2018 joint chapters meeting

Joint meeting Save the Dates 2018
The ARLIS/NA Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Chapters are happy to announce a joint meeting of our chapters from Thursday, November 15 – Saturday, November 17 in Richmond, Virginia!
To best meet the needs of all members, our business meetings will be held on Friday, November 16 with additional activities and presentations happening over the course of the weekend. While our full schedule and registration details are being finalized, we’re pleased to share that Virginia Commonwealth University will serve as host for many of our activities. Thanks to Yuki Hibben and our colleagues at VCU!
Organizing a successful meeting between chapters across so many states will be a true collaborative effort. We’re looking for volunteers to help with local arrangements, support on-site registration and logistics, and coordinating  a presentation and poster session. If you’re interested, please fill out our volunteer form by Friday, August 3.
Our conference hotel is the Linden Row Inn, located in the Monroe Ward district of downtown Richmond. Reserve your room by October 15 using the code ARLIS18 to receive our group rate of $129/night.
